Read more...Several people told me about this video and I finally watched it the other day. It made me cry. For those of you who don't know, Darius Rucker is a country singer and he did a performance at the ACM awards with a choir of people with disabilities. The song is called music from the heart and was written by a man who worked at a camp alongside people with disabilities. They wrote it together. It is a beautiful performance. You MUST watch it!
Philip was a member of The Able Church. He had been a camper at Camp Daniel for many years. I think he was a man of few words, but he loved those around him. He passed away a couple of weeks ago. We had his funeral last friday at The Able Church. It was a beautiful service. Several members shared about their friendship with Philip. There was a special song. We will miss him, but we rejoice knowing that he is in heaven with his best friend, Jesus. I think the service was so beautiful because it was Theirs. By theirs, I mean it was by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities. It was a step toward what God has for us at The Able Church. I am so blessed to be a part of it.
Read more...This is such an inspiring story. I will never forget the first time I saw this several years ago at Camp Daniel. This video never gets old. I cry every time I see it. It came up again so I thought I would share it. If you haven't heard of this father and son team running marathons, you MUST watch this video. This is a beautiful story. It challenges me to love and serve those around me.
