Happy Birthday Elijah!

OH HAPPY DAY! It was Elijah's birthday today. He turned 7. I can't believe it! Emily and I went over to Sabrina and Micah's to celebrate his birthday. It is such a blessing to be a part of their lives and watch them grow. He is such a gift from God. I wish other people could see him the way that God sees him. I gush. I am overflowing with joy. I don't have words to describe what I feel for this boy, his family, and so many other special families like theirs. He is not mine, but he might as well be! Elijah brings out the best in me. This sweet boy and his family are part of the reason that I am in ministry. Happy Birthday, sweet, sweet Elijah! We love you so much!

God's Provision

I want to make one thing clear. I am not in this for the money. Ha. That is a good one, right? It has been quite a journey over this past year of living as a full-time missionary. I am learning to trust God for my daily needs. It is a lesson, I believe, that I will be learning for the rest of my life. Over this past year, I have been living on $300/month. I am thankful for how God provided because I got by on that bit of money. Since the summer, things have been really tight. Not even that much money has come in. This month, $87 came in. That wasn't even enough to pay my bills. I immediately started worrying about it. Silly me.

A few days later, someone offered to buy my groceries and two people handed me gas cards. That is why I love living in community. I love my Camp Daniel family. We step in to help and love each other when we need it. Isn't that what this Christian life is all about? Things haven't gotten any easier over this past year. In fact, they have gotten harder. I guess we're on the right track. It's amazing how God is so much closer in those difficult times. No matter how hard things might get, I will never give up this life. I may have nothing by worldly standards, and yet, I have everything. Thank you Lord.

Textured Photos

Well folks, I discovered something rather exciting yesterday. I found out that Tony has this program called Photoshop. This program isn't just the general program, this is the program that is for graphic designers and professional photographers. It is very complicated and will take me months to really learn how to use it. In the photo world, this is the top editing program. I spend a lot of time editing photos. I rather enjoy it. I have seen a lot of photographers use texture on their photos. I have always wondered how they did it. Photoshop is the program that allows you to put the texture on the photo. This program has taken my editing to whole new level, and I am never going back. I love it!

Senior Pictures

A couple of weeks ago, I took pictures of this guy. He is my friend's grandson. It was the first time that I have done a photo shoot with a guy. I had to come up with completely different poses. I am pleased with how they turned out. That is what I love about photography. I am always learning new things.
