Our Adventure for the Day

I got to watch Lydia and Nate Wed, Thur, and Friday this week. They are the same age and they had a lot of fun together. I took them to the park that is a few blocks away from Sabrina's house. They had a blast at the park.Nate went down this slide a few times and he liked it a lot.

Nate messed up Lydia's hair and giggled.

Nate pulled himself up this thing several times. I would help him up to the next level but he did most of the work. I was so proud of him!
He loves to swing!
love it!

A Week with Nate

I have some friends that are on vacation this week and I am watching their kids. I get to spend a whole week with Nate! Yes folks, be jealous, be VERY jealous. I am also having a great time hangin' out with the older kids in the evening. Nate is such a good boy and he is so sweet! This is another family that God has handpicked to have an extraordinary little boy. They are truly a special family. I am blessed to know them and honored to call them my friends. James and Jill were very grateful that I could come over but I am the lucky one. The blessings are going both ways this week. Their kids are great! Nate was watching the dog.

"Mom, I Caught a Troll!"

My mom heard this story from her friend and I HAD to share it with you because it is awesome! It is SO funny!

There is a guy with Down Syndrome in his 30's who lives on his own. His mom checks on him often because he needs help with things sometimes. One day, he called his mom and said " Mom, Mom, I caught a troll!" She said, "Umm…what?! I'll be right over." She goes over to his apartment and he is so excited, he is jumping up and down. He takes her back to his room. A chair is propped up against the closest so the troll couldn't get out. The guy removes the chair and opens the door. Do you know what was in that closet? He had caught a little person! Yes, that's right. The little person was a Jehovah Witness who had come to the door. He had been in that closet for three hours and he was pretty angry. The really funny part was that the guy with Down Syndrome was really angry that he couldn't keep him!

Isn't that the best story you have ever heard? I laughed SO hard when I heard it. I told my mom that I was going to post it on my blog. She said "Wait, what if it isn't true?" I told her that this story is DEFINITELY true! Well, I hope it brightens your day. :0)

My New Camera

Well, I finally saved up enough money to buy a new camera and it should be here in a few days. I am so thankful for how God provided the money. I have wanted a really nice camera for a long time. I am getting a Canon EOS 50d digital SLR camera. This is a semi professional camera with a lot of extra features that I will hopefully learn to use in time. I am so excited for all of the ministry stuff that I am going to be able to do with it. I can't wait for camp because I will be able to get awesome shots this summer.

My first big project will be Jen and Marceaux's wedding. I am very thankful for the opportunity. I have never done a wedding before. I am a little nervous but I think everything will go just fine. I have learned a lot about photography over the last year. I'm sure you have noticed that I have posted a lot of photos on my blog. :0) I am so thankful for the camera that my aunt and uncle gave me because I was able to practice a lot. That camera was the start of learning how to take photos. I will keep it as a backup. I am looking for another photographer who can mentor me because I have much to learn. If you know of anyone who would be willing to mentor me, let me know.

I have a lot of ideas for taking photos of kids and people with disabilities because, well, it is my life. I have to throw that into the mix. I want to start putting a portfolio together of families who have kids with disabilities. If you know of any families who would be interested in a photo shoot, let me know. I want to keep networking and get to know more of these families. This is a way that I can encourage and minister to these families. In turn, I will be blessed just to be around them and their kids. I have a heart for these families. Let me know if you have any other ideas for ministering to them.
