Born For a Reason

We have had two amazing weeks of Camp Daniel. Many lives have been changed forever. I love having Elijah and Lydia's family at camp. They are such an important part of this ministry as a family. "Born for a Reason" is a song by the Figureheads. The Figureheads are a group that ministers to kids. This song has very powerful lyrics. Not only is this a message that we all need to hear, but they are very meaningful to people with disabilities.

Last week I was in the chapel while a group was practicing this song for the talent show. Elijah came in and sat on my lap while they were practicing simple motions to the song. Elijah caught on quickly and was doing the motions with them. Elijah didn't even know it, but as this song played, those lyrics were just for him. I cried as I watched him do the motions to this song. Elijah is such a gift and God has a special plan for his life and for his family. This little boy has taught me how to love, fully and completely. I soak up every moment with him. He has captured my heart forever.

God has taught me many great lessons through this boy. I feel like God is saying "That is how I feel about you, you have captured my heart." " I want you to love like that little boy." "I want a place in your heart like Elijah has." " I want you to love me like you love that little boy."

Here are some of the powerful lyrics to the song.

Born For a Reason

This song is for kiddos like me and

I know I was born for a reason

If you can't see it, we can

I know I was born for a reason

Life has a way of bringing blessings in disguise

Kiddo you're a gift, don't let anybody lie to you

All of us want to be liked and accepted

It would every one of us to be rejected

Communication goes way beyond words

If you listen with your whole self, the heart is heard

I know with all of my heart that you are amazing,

crazily precious, too

Even if you can't see it there's a crown on your head

If you're missing an arm, or even your legs

You know there's so much ahead, so much life to live

So don't, please don't, say I'm only a kid

Because what you have to give, could be the key

To make this family complete
