Tristin

This little boy is Tristin, he is 4 yrs old. His dad was a counselor at Camp Daniel this summer and they have been really involved with The Able Church ever since then. He is such a sweet boy. He is learning about the armor of God and recited some of it to me today. It seems that another little boy has made his way into my heart, and it only took like two seconds. Love him!

The Able Church Thanksgiving Dinner

We had a Thanksgiving dinner a couple of weeks ago at The Able Church. It was a very special evening.

Kate and Micah-our musical guests for the evening. It was a really special night with them. It was their first time at Able and I know that they experienced the pure, genuine worship. Every week at Able is special but that was a particularly special night.

You know, its kinds funny, but Elijah is like our little tester. You can hardly see him, but he is sitting next to Kate. Elijah always seems to make his way up onto the stage, whether he is supposed to be there or not. I sit back and wait to see how people are gonna react to him. I don't think there is wrong way to react, but the difference is whether someone really gets it, truly gets what The Able Church is all about. Kate had Elijah sit next to her, and I thought Yes, she gets it. I know that Elijah blessed Kate while he sat next to her. God ministered to Kate through Elijah as only he can. It is the way that God ministers through all people with disabilities.

Sleepover

I got to watch my favorite kiddos tonight. I decided that we would have a sleepover. We put on our pajamas, brought pillows and blankets into the living room, made popcorn and watched a movie. We had a blast! We stayed up a little later to watch the movie. Shhh! Don't tell Bri and Micah. :) Everything about those moments were sweeter. Their giggles, reading them a book, and their silliness. Have I mentioned that I love them? It was another one of those memories that only last a few moments, but it is one that I will hold onto...forever.the kiddos were ready to start the movie!

Community/Friends/Family

I am blessed. I am a part of a pretty unique thing here at Camp Daniel. We are a community, a family. Many people desire it, and we are living it. It isn't always easy, but really, what is? I have grown and changed so much in the last year because of the people around me. They challenge me and make me a better person. Isn't that the kind people we should all be surrounded with?

I remember the first time I walked into Tony and Karol's house. I felt at home, like family. I don't think they realize how much that affected my decision in the future to go into full-time ministry. I knew that I would be working alongside my family, and I had no hesitation. I believe that everyone who enters their home feels that way. They are real and genuine people. I am blessed to call them my friends, my family.

While I was growing up, it was often just me and my folks because a lot of our family lived far away. I think that is why dear friends mean so much more to me. I have been thinking about all of the friends/family that God has surrounded me with. There is my Camp Daniel family, The Kocian family, The Weidner family, Becky and Tim, and many others that I am getting to know from church. These families bless me so much!

Not only do I get to invest in their lives, but I get to invest in their kid's lives as well. The blessing goes both ways. Community is important, it is vital. Just start loving on the people around you and see what happens! I remember when I was in Georgia, there were six families that met every week to eat, pray, worship, and fellowship together. That was the first time I experienced deep, real community. There were about 12 kids that were a part of that group. Most of the time I would hang out with the kids because that's where my heart is. For a time after I came home from Georgia, I wondered if this kind of community was possible somewhere else. Well, I found out that it is possible everywhere! If you want to be a part of a community, seek it out. Start it. Everyone wants to be loved. Ask God who He wants you to seek out. Start lovin' on people. Eat and pray together. BE the community.

My Favorite Natie-boy

I spent the last couple of days at the Kocian's. It is always so special to spend time with this family. I took a few pictures of Natie while he was playing today. I tried to capture a few of the many silly faces that he makes while he is playing.
